Academia Outreach Committee

About

The Academia Outreach Committee advances the integration of technical analysis into higher education worldwide through the Academic Partner Program. This committee comprises experienced members who collaborate with university faculty and students to embed Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) curriculum content into finance degree programs. By fostering academic partnerships and developing tailored educational resources, the committee bridges theoretical finance and practical market skills. Its focus on cultivating a pipeline of future CMT candidates supports the CMT Association’s mission to uphold technical analysis as a rigorous, scholarly discipline within the financial industry.

Mission

The Academia Outreach Committee promotes technical analysis as a respected academic discipline by expanding and managing the Academic Partner Program. It engages faculty and students through collaborative curriculum integration, campus outreach, and resource development. The committee upholds values of education, partnership, and thought leadership to ensure technical analysis is embedded in mainstream finance education. By building strong academic relationships and tracking program outcomes, it creates clear pathways for students to pursue the CMT designation. This work supports the CMT Association’s goal of preparing future financial professionals with essential technical analysis skills grounded in both theory and practice.
