The Industry Outreach Committee advocates for the relevance and value of technical analysis and the Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) designation within the global financial services industry. Composed of experienced professionals and CMT charterholders, the committee develops strategic partnerships with leading financial firms, asset managers, and institutional stakeholders. It plays a key role in enhancing career opportunities for members by elevating the recognition of technical analysis as a core competency in investment strategy, trading, and risk management. The committee also provides informed input on regulatory matters and represents the CMT Association at major industry events to maintain alignment with evolving market needs.

The Group Experience

CMT Association committees are standing bodies of charterholders who steward a specific function of the Association — curriculum, ethics, governance, programming, and more. Committee members are appointed based on qualifications and experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Advocate for technical analysis
    Promote the value and application of technical analysis and the CMT designation across the financial industry
  • Build strategic partnerships
    Develop and maintain relationships with leading financial firms and institutional stakeholders to enhance collaboration and visibility
  • Expand member career opportunities
    Identify and create pathways that increase professional advancement and employment prospects for CMT Association members
  • Enhance institutional recognition
    Work to improve the acceptance and credibility of technical analysis within institutional finance communities
  • Establish CMT as required credential
    Promote the CMT designation as a preferred or mandatory qualification for relevant roles in the financial sector
