Dual Charter Initiative

About

The Dual Charter Initiative is a global subcommittee focused on advancing the integration of the Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) designation with other leading investment credentials, such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). This group comprises active professional members and charter holders who develop marketing content, build collaborative relationships with credentialing bodies, and support local chapters in promoting dual charter value. They work to establish transparent pathways for professionals combining technical analysis with other disciplines, enhancing institutional recognition and career opportunities. The initiative strengthens the role of technical analysis within comprehensive investment strategies, aligning with the CMT Association's mission to elevate the discipline's professional standing.

Mission

The Dual Charter Initiative advocates strategically for the complementary value of technical analysis alongside other major investment disciplines. The committee fosters collaboration by building relationships with credentialing organizations and creating clear, recognized pathways for professionals holding multiple designations. Upholding values of integration, professionalism, and institutional recognition, the group develops marketing assets, supports chapter events, and provides guidance on multi-credentialed career development. By promoting a multi-disciplinary approach, the initiative aims to increase understanding and acceptance of technical analysis at the institutional level, thereby expanding career opportunities for dual charter holders and advancing the discipline within the broader investment community.
