About

The Board of Directors is the governing body responsible for setting the global strategic direction and mission of the CMT Association. Composed primarily of active Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) Charter Holders and experienced professionals, the Board oversees the long-term vitality, fiduciary health, and reputation of the Association. It ensures that all major policies, bylaws, and resource management align with the Association’s core values and support the advancement of technical analysis worldwide. The Board’s stewardship is essential to maintaining the integrity and relevance of the CMT designation for its global membership.

Mission

The mission of the Board of Directors is to provide strategic leadership and governance that safeguard the CMT Association’s sustainability and global standing. The Board fulfills this mission by approving the long-term strategic plan, annual budget, and operational priorities while rigorously monitoring organizational performance and risk. It upholds fiduciary responsibility, transparency, and accountability to protect the Association’s resources and reputation. By fostering ethical conduct and sound governance, the Board ensures the continued advancement of the technical analysis discipline and the enduring value of the Chartered Market Technician® designation for members and candidates worldwide.

The Group Experience
SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

CMT Association committees are standing bodies of charterholders who steward a specific function of the Association — curriculum, ethics, governance, programming, and more. Committee members are appointed based on qualifications and experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define global strategy
    Establish and periodically review the Association's long-term strategic direction and mission to guide all activities and initiatives
  • Ensure organizational sustainability
    Promote the long-term vitality of the Association by overseeing resources, growth plans, and succession strategies
  • Maintain fiduciary responsibility
    Oversee financial health and risk management to protect the Association's assets and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Protect Association reputation
    Manage the overall reputation and public trust of the Association through governance, transparency, and stakeholder engagement
  • Advance technical analysis discipline
    Support initiatives that promote the global recognition and development of technical analysis as a professional discipline
