About

The Executive Committee is the central leadership group within the CMT Association Board of Directors, composed of elected officers and the Executive Director. This committee ensures continuous governance and operational oversight between full Board meetings, addressing urgent matters and maintaining strategic momentum. It coordinates the activities of all Board committees and serves as the primary liaison between the Board and senior staff. By overseeing fiduciary health and risk management, the Executive Committee supports the Association's mission to advance the Chartered Market Technician® designation globally with consistent, agile leadership.

Mission

The Executive Committee leads the CMT Association through decisive action on urgent issues and continuous governance between full Board meetings. It upholds transparency, accountability, and strategic alignment by coordinating committee efforts and advising the CEO on day-to-day governance. The committee prioritizes operational efficiency and leadership continuity, ensuring the Association responds effectively to the evolving needs of its global membership. By maintaining fiduciary oversight and facilitating seamless communication between the Board and staff, the Executive Committee safeguards the Association’s integrity and advances its long-term objectives.

The Group Experience
SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

CMT Association committees are standing bodies of charterholders who steward a specific function of the Association — curriculum, ethics, governance, programming, and more. Committee members are appointed based on qualifications and experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act on behalf of Board
    Make decisions and take actions between full Board meetings to maintain governance continuity
  • Ensure leadership continuity
    Provide seamless and ongoing leadership to support the Association’s strategic direction and operations
  • Liaise between Board and CEO
    Serve as the primary communication channel between the Board and CEO/staff to facilitate alignment and information flow
  • Advise CEO strategically
    Offer guidance and counsel to the CEO on key strategic initiatives and organizational priorities
  • Oversee fiduciary health
    Monitor financial health and risk management to safeguard the Association’s assets and compliance between Board meetings
