About

The Global Black Caucus serves as a dedicated forum within the CMT Association that supports Black practitioners and allies in the field of technical analysis and the broader financial industry. It focuses on professional advancement, mentorship, and leadership development to foster a more inclusive and equitable community. The caucus develops initiatives addressing career growth, hosts targeted events, and advises the Association on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) matters. By reducing systemic barriers and building a visible pipeline of future Black leaders, the caucus aligns with the Association’s mission to reflect the diverse global markets its members analyze.

Mission

The mission of the Global Black Caucus is to champion the professional advancement and inclusion of Black practitioners within technical analysis and finance. The caucus provides a supportive environment for networking, mentorship, and leadership development, ensuring diverse perspectives are represented across the Association. It develops programs and partnerships that address systemic barriers and build a sustainable talent pipeline. The caucus advises the Association on DEI issues, fostering education and advocacy to create a more equitable professional community. Through targeted initiatives and collaboration, it aims to enhance career opportunities and leadership representation for Black members, contributing to the overall strength and diversity of the CMT Association.

The Group Experience
SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

CMT Association committees are standing bodies of charterholders who steward a specific function of the Association — curriculum, ethics, governance, programming, and more. Committee members are appointed based on qualifications and experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Champion professional advancement
    Actively promote the career growth and inclusion of Black practitioners within the technical analysis community
  • Provide networking forum
    Create and maintain a supportive space dedicated to networking and leadership development for Black members
  • Advise on diversity and inclusion
    Offer informed guidance to CMT Association leadership on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and policies
  • Reduce systemic barriers
    Identify and work to eliminate obstacles that hinder entry and advancement of Black professionals in the field
  • Build leadership pipeline
    Develop programs and opportunities to cultivate a visible and strong pipeline of future Black leaders within the Association
