The RND Innovation Committee is a specialized group within CMT Association focused on identifying, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to technical analysis and market research. Comprised of experienced Charter Holders and industry professionals with expertise in research and development, the committee drives innovation to enhance the tools and resources available to members and candidates. This group plays a critical role in ensuring the Association remains at the forefront of technological advancements that impact the practice and education of market technicians.

Mission

The RND Innovation Committee’s mission is to proactively explore and incorporate cutting-edge innovations that advance the discipline of technical analysis. We rigorously assess new technologies, data sources, and analytical techniques to determine their applicability and value for CMT Association members and candidates. Upholding principles of relevance, accuracy, and practicality, we aim to integrate innovations that improve the effectiveness of the CMT curriculum, professional development offerings, and member services. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and forward-thinking, we support the Association’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in technical analysis education and practice.

The Group Experience
SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

CMT Association committees are standing bodies of charterholders who steward a specific function of the Association — curriculum, ethics, governance, programming, and more. Committee members are appointed based on qualifications and experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify emerging technologies
    Continuously scan and evaluate new technologies and research that could influence the practice of technical analysis and the CMT Association’s offerings
  • Develop innovation proposals
    Create detailed proposals for integrating promising innovations into the CMT curriculum, tools, and member resources to enhance relevance and value
  • Facilitate pilot projects
    Coordinate and oversee pilot initiatives that test new tools, methodologies, or educational approaches to validate their effectiveness before wider adoption
  • Advise on technology trends
    Provide expert insights on evolving technology trends and their potential impact on the technical analysis profession and the CMT designation
  • Report to leadership
    Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports summarizing findings, assessments, and recommendations to CMT Association leadership and relevant committees
