CMT Association committees are standing bodies of charterholders who steward a specific function of the Association — curriculum, ethics, governance, programming, and more. Committee members are appointed based on qualifications and experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Uphold professional conductMaintain the highest standards of integrity and behavior among members to preserve trust in the profession
- Administer code of ethicsEnforce the CMT Association’s Code of Ethics through monitoring, investigation, and disciplinary measures when necessary
- Protect designation reputationSafeguard the credibility and value of the Chartered Market Technician® designation by ensuring ethical compliance
- Ensure member competenceVerify that members adhere to principles of professional competence and ethical practice in their work
- Safeguard public trustPromote accountability and transparency to maintain confidence in the Association and the technical analysis profession
Core Activities
- Administer and enforce the CMT Association's Code of Ethics
- Investigate formal complaintsInvestigate formal complaints of misconduct thoroughly and impartially
- Conduct hearings in accordance with Bylaws Art. 5
- Recommend disciplinary sanctions (censure, suspension, expulsion)Recommend disciplinary sanctions (censure, suspension, expulsion) to the Board
- Recommend changes to the Code of Ethics
