Houston Community

About

The Houston Community is a regional group within the CMT Association that connects technical analysis professionals focused on the energy sector and the broader regional economy. It serves as a local hub for in-person networking, specialized educational events, and support for Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) Program candidates. By concentrating on commodities, intermarket analysis, and systematic trading strategies relevant to Houston's industry, the community bridges the energy market with the core principles of the CMT designation. This localized focus helps members apply rigorous, rules-based technical analysis to navigate complex global commodity markets effectively.

Mission

The Houston Community advances the practice of technical analysis by fostering a vibrant local network of professionals engaged in the energy sector and related markets. We organize regular educational events and networking opportunities that emphasize market-specific expertise, including commodities and systematic trading strategies. Our commitment to inclusivity and professional development supports members and CMT Program candidates through study groups, outreach, and resource sharing. We uphold the CMT Association’s standards by ensuring all activities align with governance and compliance requirements. Through collaboration with local universities and industry partners, we promote rigorous, rules-based analysis that empowers practitioners to make informed decisions within the unique demands of the Houston market.
